Musings from the shop

Well it’s that time again when the final looms and we’ve all once again become obsessed with the Traitors’ as much for the murder mystery and drama as for the show stopping interiors at the heart of the Traitors' aesthetic.

So we thought we’d join the bandwagon and feature some cosy textures, dramatic colours and a nod to that fading but glorious Scottish grandeur but perhaps moving it slightly too so as not to date that “very Traitors’” expression that is becoming more popular by the day!

Think Ralph Lauren, Mulberry, Moon Fabrics, The Isle Mill to name a few…. And indulge in rich paint colours like Cordoba or Lamp Black from Little Greene or Green Smoke from Farrow and Ball and to brighten up things, we love Caravan from Paint Library!!

 Historical Musings from the shop

What’s to love about the colour brown….

This year, brown seems to be everywhere… a colour that people say is an awful colour but then they think about how much they love chocolate, brown bears, chocolate coloured labradors, hot chocolate… the list is actually quite long!

What once was a bad word in interiors and fashion is most definitely back…. Think about all the dark wood furniture you have painted in cream, grey and dark colours and now long for that wood feel again

Brown brings in a depth that black can’t and a warmth that grey can’t. The dark colours we have all been embracing like darkest green, darkest blue are edgy and interesting and grounding, but brown is deep, eloquent, and warm.

Of course there are lots of different browns – you need it to say chocolate, or mocha, or cappuccino… you want it to layer up in the colours – from cream to black you can add warmth with a touch of brown …

Then all you need is a Magnum ice cream and you are in chocolate heaven….
